7 Ways to Know If You Are a Christian Fantasy Writer

Updated: May 23

I wanted to reach out to all the Christian Fantasy Authors out there. I've been casually searching for Christian Fantasy Authors who don't just mimic fantasy Authors, but who glorify God in every detail of their books. And unfortunately, I haven't found a lot.

So, I am writing this blog in hopes that this message will find its way to other Christian fantasy Authors, and we can all be friends and support each other.

(That and I've also been watching Star Wars and the need for me to get in contact with the rest of the alliance is important).

If you liked this corny Star Wars reference, check out just how much I love Star Wars by clicking here.

I'm going to keep this blog post short.

This is how you know that you are a Christian Fantasy Writer

It isn't always easy to tell what type of writer you are. There are plenty of genres out there that you could fall into. Such as the fiction genre or the young adult fiction genre (those are the ones I'm usually classified in). So, if you are on the fence about what category you belong to like Christian fiction or Christian fantasy, I made a list of 7 things Christian fantasy writers do in their stories that shows that they belong in that category.

  1. Your characters sometimes have powers.

  2. Superheroes and Villains are something you can go on and on about.

  3. You may have creatures, dragons, or monsters in your stories.

  4. knights and shining armor are a character that you know about and either find extremely interesting or boring.

  5. You have Bible verses or Bible principals in your stories.

  6. What a character wares matters.

  7. God is explicitly and directly expressed and talked about in your stories

If you do most of these, welcome to the Christian fantasy category. I'm happy to know you are a part of the few.
