6 Ways To Get Readers To Read Your Book

Updated: Nov 14

Getting in front of people Is how you get people to read your book. One of my biggest challenges, when I was starting out, was selling my books because I couldn't find anyone interested in reading them.

But the people were always there. They would have gladly bought my book if they knew it existed. And that’s the problem. A lot of people don’t know that these great self-published books exist. After all, they can’t buy what they don’t see.

So how do you get your book in front of readers?

well I’m glad you a

I made a list:

  1. Start a YouTube Channel

  2. Start a Podcast

  3. Get interviewed

  4. Post on social media about it

  5. Join a Facebook community group

  6. Go to events and talk about your book

“Marketing is crucial when you are trying to sell your wonderful book. So a marketing strategy may be a great place to start.”

Key point: When developing a marketing strategy that is low budget make sure you don’t spread yourself too thin. You want to remain consistent and strong when you market not inconsistent and burnt out.

Start a YouTube Channel

What’s your book about? Is it a fiction story? Does it have a political theme? Does it mention poverty? Your book could be a good foundation for you to build a YouTube channel on.

YouTube is a great platform for your readers to find you, see your personality, and grow to trust you.

Podcasts are becoming increasingly popular and you can start one for free

It is a great way to share your ideas, thoughts and opinions on the topics that your book might hint to or be about. This will allow readers get to know more about you and connect with you.

Post on Social Media about your Book

If you are anything like me. You hate posting your artwork on social media. I literally cringe at the thought because my social media is filled of family and friends and not customers.

But posting about it and allowing your friends to share it can really spread the word about your book and what you do.

(I close my eyes after pressing the post button and just silence all notifications for 24 hours.)

Join a Facebook Group

Find like minded people and get into a community. Find out what they are doing and ask questions.

Having some writing besties only adds value to your creativity and marketing strategy.

Plus they get how hard it is to write something and try to share it with other.

Go To Events and Talk about Your Book

This is personally my favorite Marketing tactic. I often sign up to go to marketing events and book signing events and even local vendor events.

I absolutely love the friendly environments and entrepreneur small business spirit. If I could I would just do these.
